Richard Blackwell Jr. was raised in Midland, Texas since the age of three. He is the oldest of four children born to Richard and Patricia Blackwell.
Richard graduated from Midland Lee High School in 1972. He then attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock where he joined the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. In January of 1977 Richard married his high school sweetheart Ruth Ann. He graduated from Texas Tech later that year with a bachelor’s degree in Zoology. He then attended dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry in June of 1977, graduating in 1980.
Richard opened his first private practice in Dallas at Medical City Hospital. He worked in Dallas for eleven years before moving to Lago Vista in April 1992.
He opened his current practice in Cedar Park in June of 1993. He has been a member of the ADA, TDA, DCDS, and CADS since the eighties.
Richard and Ruth Ann have two wonderful children, Drew 25 and Lani 19. Dr. Blackwell enjoys playing golf, disc golfing, boating and traveling.
